The Shakers n' Bakers album "Heart Love - the Pop songs of Albert Ayler" released digitally Feb 14/physical May 26! The band plays shows May 27 at the Falcon in Marlboro NY and May 28 at Bar Lunatico, Brooklyn.

Jeff and Mary along with longtime associate trombonist Joe Fiedler with be conducting workshops and performances as the Artists in residence at the Guimaraes Jazz Festival (Portugal) Nov 5-19 2017. The band includes Nick Dunston(bass) and George Schuller (drums).  They will also be performing in New England July 22-24 - July 22 Northampton MA house concert for the Jazz Shares organization/July 23 8pm at the 118 Elliot Street Space in Brattleboro Vt. and July 24 at Quinns in Beacon NY.

The new Shakers recording features the music of Albert Ayler from his seminal and oft misunderstood "New Grass" record! 

the great Christian Rock/Free Jazz band returns after a multi-year hiatus in 2017 with Spring Gigs and a new Recording featuring some of the music from Albert Ayler's under-regarded classic "New Grass" and other shaker goodies.

Year 5 Visionary Youth Orchestra performed the music of Henry Grimes w/guest Steve Swell at the Vision Festival June 11  Co led by Jeff Lederer and Jessica Jones, this 20 piece ensemble of 10-18 year olds is sounding amazing! Watch the Video by clicking below!

July 13 - Jeff hosts the "Musicians Show" on Albert Ayler's 80th Birthday!!! 6-8pm
July 16 - "Anchors Aweigh - Melville in the Bronx" - Blowhards play on the Bronx River for "Rock the Boat" and then perform concert at Herman Melville's gravesite in Woodlawn Cemetary. We will make a quick stop by the grave of the bass player from the band "Mountain" to play a short version of "Nantucket Sleigh Ride" as well. 2pm www.citylore.org

July 21 - New Bedford Whaling Museum( we will pirate a gig in the parking lot) - no website address, this is not a sanctioned performance, don't tip them off.
